MEDITATION

MEDITATION GIFT

Those who have had a contact with the Holy Dham and know that very subtle atmosphere can Meditate on it and experience it even from a distance. That Meditation if sufficiently deep brings a mood of a meeting in separation. It is so special and so impressing that it reflects immediately the Holy Dham alone to one who desires that association, and in this way we can woke up our dormant Spiritual nature within a Spiritual World.
The Meditation is anyway a very specific phenomena aspect and it works not only on the Holy Dham but on everything, on every one, including the Lord Himself. More intensely we meditate more effective is our meeting with the meditative object. That is the essence of Meditation.
From philosophical point of view we have many examples of the importance of the process of Meditation, absorption of the Mind. The Bhagavad gita 12. 8 says: 'mayy eva mana adhatsva...', “Just fix your mind upon Me, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and engage your intelligence on Me. Thus you will live in me always, without doubt.” This are the words of God, Krsna Himself, His declaration and assurance.
Going further we can come to the Sixth Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam and the interesting story of King Citraketu. The essence of this lesson is in verse 34 Chapter 16 where we can learn that by conquering the Mind we are conquering the Lord. And this means we are coming directly to the relationship with the Lord in a purely spiritual sense.
Srila Jiva Gosvami, the follower of Lord Caitanya and one of the six Gosvamis, delineates Meditation in his 'Bhakti Sandharbha':
'Smaranam or remembrance means to search with the Mind. One must follow the step by step process (remembering first the NAME, then the FORM, then, QUALITIES, and PASTIMES, etc.) then one easily advances spiritually and remembers everything pertaining to the Lord, like his qualities, association, paraphernalia and finally His pastimes.'
According to 'Bhakti Sandharbha' Smaranam or Meditation is of five kinds:
1. A little search with the Mind for the Lord's name, form, etc. is called Smaranam.
*Remore preparation: yama – praktyce of precepts, niyama – praktyce of virtues, restrictictions, purity.
2. To withdraw the Mind completely from the external phenomena and to slightly direct it towards and delve on the Lord is called Dharana, Concentration.
3. To fix the mind in thoughts of the specific form, pastimes, etc. of the Lord is known as Dhyana, Meditation.
4. When Dhyana becomes uninterrupted and gives excesive bliss it is known as Dhruva-anusmrti, Perfect Meditation.
5. When only the object of deep Meditation is spontaneously manifest in the totality of the Mind it is called Samadhi, Trance.
*Direct preparation: Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi.
This steps of Meditation can be compared to a digging a way to the Lord, more firm it is more easily is to come back to that track. There are and will be the difficulties and deviations from this way but when there is the determination this path is getting gradually so strong that finally nothing is able to turn one from it, despite all efforts, tests and tricks of Material Nature.

From the moment of waking up in the morning to the next morning we are absorbed in everything around, home, family, friends, work, things, relax, etc. Our concentration goes outside of our real SELF, the Soul within us. And more we are outside of our true HOME which is situated very deeply inside us, we are losing our true identity, most subtle and pure in all respects. So to woke up this dormant purity within us we have a MEDITATION process available for everyone on every platform of life. By the concentration of the Mind on the Self and one's connection with God we can reveal the veil of all our coverings and go deeper and deeper to our inside unique Personality. This is called the process of Self-realization, stepping back and discovering the secret of our being.
It is not so difficult to just find one's own way and practice this Meditation process, but we must have some knowledge about our relationship with the Goal of our Meditation the Supreme Lord. More knowledge we have more we can apply it. This secret and the knowledge itself is hidden within the mantras, the secret texts, and the best mantra is a Maha Mantra, the highest of all. Why it is so special? Because it is coming directly from the Spiritual Atmosphere, the Kingdom of God.
The Maha Mantra: Hare Krsna Hare Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare is a spiritual vibration, a spiritual melody, a sound which possess in itself everything: Matter, individual Soul and God and by 'singing' this Maha Mantra all is gradually revealed, all TRUTH, all KNOWLEDGE, everything on every possible platform, and as well it purifies all dirt accumulated within us.
One can Meditate through this Maha Mantra, in any way he likes, just repeating it within the mind, or loud, no matter when, where or how, one can absorb himself in it and achieve a quick result, spiritual progress...
